Junior Scholarship
In late 2025, the JCCA Board updated our Junior Showmanship Guidelines and added a Junior Scholarship! Below are the updated guidelines, and in BOLD the scholarship information.
Junior Award & Scholarship Guidelines – Updated 11/4/2026
1) Someone involved with the junior needs to have a connection to JCCA . It could be the Junior, the Parent, or the breeder of the Chin.
2) Trophies
A. Top Junior of the Year gets an award.
B. All other Juniors get a Certificate.
C. Best Junior handling a Chin at JCCA Supported Entry gets an award equal to BOB, BOS, BOW, BOH
D. At National Specialty
a) Best Junior and Reserve Best Junior get a trophy prize in addition to a Rosette.
b) Class prizes for 1-4 in juniors get a trophy prize in addition to a Rosette.
3) Scholarship
The JCCA will sponsor one Junior annually with a $500 scholarship (reimbursable through submitting receipts to the JCCA Treasurer) for covering costs associated with showing at Westminster in February or showing at AKC/Royal Canin in December.
Applications should be submitted to a JCCA Board member by September 30 of each year. Application to be designed by JCCA Officers.
The JCCA Board shall designate a committee to select one junior from applicants to award the prize by October 15 of each year.
